In the world, every country devises its own set of provisions towards meeting the basic objectives of a health care system. In the U.S, the healthcare system faces noteworthy challenges that call for the urgent need for reform. It is evident that Americans in most cases do not receive the care they need even though the money spent by the United States per person on health care is more than any other country in the world. Despite the fact that a large number of patients regularly fail to receive medically essential care, others obtain care that might be nonessential, or even harmful. This paper argues that the US should create a value-based consumer incentive health care system.
In a value-based consumer incentive system consists of high quality and efficient care can be maintained. In this case, the private and public healthcare payers can hold on a vital role towards encouraging the healthcare consumers to make crucial choices. This move will enable the care to be more personalized, while making the individual preferences and characteristics more important. Furthermore, the benefit and financial reforms can offer an improved support towards personal patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers because they stand a better chance to make decisions that are increasingly significant to receive better care at a reduced cost.
The system also gives room for value-based insurance design. This will involve lowering and elimination of consumer cost needs for precise clinical services that are identified to offer benefits with certain conditions. There is also the establishment of diverse cost-sharing provisions that are on the basis of patient features towards promoting patient adherence treatments that have the capacity to improve results and lower general costs given the patient’s specific clinical features.
