CEW Paragraphs Workshop
Your task: complete a paragraph like a sample in the CEW Prezi we covered in class. We will create the major and minor claims and gather evidence as a class, so your job will be to provide the warrant for this point of argument.

Major claim: The overuse of social media and technology could potentially be destructive to American culture.
Minor claim: Social media and technology allow everyone to hide behind their screens, limiting face-to-face interactions. Social media provides both adults and adolescents with a sense of friendship without putting any effort toward building deep, meaningful relationships.

What justification can you give to show readers how the evidence proves your minor claim is true? (remember, don't just restate the evidence in your own words because the evidence doesn't speak for itself)

Your paragraph:
Social interactions and human connections are essential to a person's growth and development. However, one should not mistake a Facebook post or a text for social interaction. Social media and technology allow everyone to hide behind their screens, limiting their face-to-face interactio...
