In the short story "The Open Window," there is a young girl named Vera. Vera had a talent for telling stories. And one day a man named Framton Nuttel came to see her aunt named Mrs. Sappleton. So Vera thought it would be fun to tell one of her little stories.
Vera came down to great Mr. Nuttel and to tell that her aunt will be joining them shortly. As they wait she asks Mr. Nuttel if he knew anyone in the town and his response was "Hardly a soul". He begins to tell her that her sister used to stay in the town and she gave him letters of introduction to some nice people in town. Vera asked him "Then you know practically nothing about my aunt?" and he responded "Only her name and address." . After hearing that he knows nothing she begins to tell him about a "tragedy" that happen to her aunt. She starts by asking him if he wonder why the window was opened in October. He asked her "but has that window got anything to do with the tragedy?" Then she starts to tell him how her uncles always go out that window to shoot and one day three years ago they went out and they didn't come back. And she also explained that the summer of that year was raining heavily. She as well told him that all of them sunk in a "bog" and their bodies could not be found.
