Kind of unusual question for this forum:
I'm a beginner DJ and was wondering if anyone knows of some open source tools for mixing music? Something that can match beats and allow "harmonic mixing".
I was planning on ponying up the $58 for Mixed In Key, and probably will, but was hoping there were some other open source tools I could play around with.

Try Mixxx - www.mixxx.org - it has Beat estimation, parallel visual displays, and support for various DJ hardware controllers.
It's pretty cool but I'd still recommend spending the $58 for Mixed In Key - its a lot easier to use
Thanks! Have downloaded Mixxx - will screw around with it over the weekend and provide a review.

Try www.mixserver.com - its free as well...
I finally got to try mixxx with a buddy's hercules console and it rocks! It takes getting used to and the majority of my 100+ mixes are trainwrecks but I'm laboring on. Wish me luck and please post any other software titles you think might be useful.
Thanks!

Alas Mixserver.com seems to be down, but thanks to the anonymous user for recommending Mixxx. I've been looking for an open source version for ages, and have now FINALLY found something. Much thanks again!
