We are currently using Salesforce.com - Group edition and are looking to move to SugarCRM. Salesforce is good but it is working out a little too expensive - $600/year!
Do you know of any resources, articles, etc. that help you walk through the migration from Salesforce to Sugar??

Add AnswerBTW I just checked and Salesforce is up to $1,200/year - so get ready for that little "bump" in your next month's billing statement! :)
Migrating contacts is pretty simple - export the contacts as a CSV and Sugar has a very simple import and mapping interface that will allow you to import these records in a matter of minutes.
As for the other data - Campaigns, Templates, Opportunities, etc. - I'm not sure but that might require some mysql scripts to be run (after you manage to extract the data from Salesforce)

Have you looked at netsuite? That might be another paid option. Another one is Compiere - it is a Sugar CRM - check and see if they have any input filters. As Sugarguru said, though - pretty much all these apps will have import tools.

Don't make the mistake of migrating from Salesforce to SugarCRM. We tried it about 6 months ago and it was disastrous. The migration effort went off fine but SugarCRM was terrible and we eventually ended up moving back to Salesforce. Wasted about 4-6 man-months of effort in the process. What a waste...

To be honest we have tried sugar but was very disappointed. We selected zoho crm instead. It's web based as salesforce and it only cost $12 per user. It has been very useful and easy to use.
