Recently, I've done a couple of posts on Firefox efficiency boosts and extensions, plus a tips post. A few of these tips were new to readers, and sometimes it helps to be able to visualize how a tip works. So in this post, I'm going to supply a photo tour of some top Firefox efficiency boosts that you can get going with as soon as you see the screen shots. These can save you time and hassle if you, as I do, work in the browser all day.

Bring Back That Tab. If you recently closed a tab and would like to revisit it, you can do so quickly by going to Firefox's History menu and selecting Recently Closed Tabs. This is great if you constantly work with lots of tabs open, as I do. See below.

Organize Your Bookmarks. If your list of bookmarks balloons to the size mine does on a regular basis, it’s good to know how to get rid of bookmark entries. Right-click on any one and hit delete to eject it. The Organize Bookmarks choice on the Bookmarks menu can also keep your list manageable. See below.

Disable Password Manager. Some people like to have their passwords for favorite sites entered automatically in when they visit a site. I happen to not like it, and it’s a better security practice not to do it automatically. To disable this, go to the Tools menu, select Options and click off β€œRemember passwords for sites.” See Below.

Open a Link in a New Window. To open a link in a whole new instance of Firefox, right click on the link and select Open Link in New Window. You can also hit Shift-click to open a link in a new window. See below.Β 

Quickly Select a Whole Line of Text. Within any word your mouse cursor is in, click your left mouse button three times rapidly to select the whole line. See below.
