If you want to, though, you can set up your firewall to block traffic to certain domains. Alternatively, you can set up a /etc/hosts file on your machine that redirects these domains for machines you want to block. This is a bitch to manage, though.
This is simple to do. Just set it on the router firewall - I know linksys routers allow you to do this - so it shouldn't be too hard in the router browser interface.
Why would you want to block these sites - people who want to access them will figure out a way to do so (or just waste time on another site that isn't blocked). Instead, hire the right people and focus on instilling a sense of professionalism in your employees and you wont need to worry about Orkut and Facebook as much...

Add AnswerWell, we don't really block these, but if you wanted to, you can install a proxy server like squid.
Alternatively, your firewall may also allow basic blocking, but those can be easily bypassed using services like tor or http://anonymizer.com/
Also, you need to comma-separate your tags in the question, so they show up better ;)
Hope this helps.

Just set up the firewall rules in your linux system to do it.
Oh, you're not using linux, why are you on an 'open source software' site then?
