As you would have seen, Ning.com allows ts users to create there own social network. It's a wonderful thing.
Is there any such open source platform that I can install on my website which can give my website users to create such social networks within my website?
I hope I am clear about what I am asking. Basicall I am looking at providing my website users to start their own social networks just how it is done on ning. Is there any open source tool/script available, or even somethuing close to it that can be modified and used.

Its sad that they haven't open sourced Ning. I think it would be tremendously beneficial for both, Ning and the community and is the perfect platform for FOSS - software is already there and Ning has the "premium service" offering that helps them monetize users - Think Wordpress, Not Six Apart...

...Sorry - don't know an OSS app that does exactly what Ning does but Drupal will let you do that with some minimal customization
Actually I found one good open source software named AROUNDMe by www.barnraiser.com
It does exactly the same thing as Ning
Do check it out.
