I Use This

JasperReports is an open source Java reporting tool that can write to screen, to a printer or into PDF, HTML, Microsoft Excel, RTF, ODT, Comma-separated values and XML files.It can be used in Java-enabled applications, including J2EE or Web applications, to generate dynamic content. It reads its instructions from an XML or .jasper file.

Jaspersoft, the parent company behind JasperReports, also offers JasperServer. This is targeted at users who require more sophisticated report management capabilities. JasperReports can be imported into JasperServer and managed from there.

Excellent Toolkit To Generate Reports In Java Platform

I have used and enjoyed using Jasper Reports to generate booking confirmation for an airline's online booking engine.

I transformed static contents and injected dynamic payment and PNR data and into PDF files in application server container and rendered PDF data back to the user.

Simple if you undestand JRXML template

onlinedhandu

Its more & more easier if you are familiar with the JXML template creation. Its too good with java platforms with OOPS concepts. If you want to combine JFreeChart with Jasper Report, then you may feel the difference from the other open source reports.
