If you've seen our coverage of the Boxee open source media center application and tried it, you know that one of the big benefits it offers is that you can break away from your computer when you want to watch online video content, and even enjoy it on a big screen. Now, Boxee is out with a remote control application for the iPhone, which is an available in the iPhone app store. For Boxee couch potatoes who have iPhones, this is a great convenience.
Boxee Remote is designed to let you navigate within the media center application, type and click from 10 feet away. You can use a Buttons mode to navigate with standard clicks and menu choices, or you can select a Gesture mode to move around with simple gestures. Clicking on the Boxee logo acts as Select/Play/Pause, and you can instantly pull up the iPhone's QWERTY keyboard.
Boxee Remote also works with the iPod Touch, and works via Wi-Fi, so make sure it's turned on on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
