In today's economic climate, ideas on how to save money are always welcome, especially when it concerns enterprise-class software. Open source network and systems management software vendor GroundWork announced a new program aimed at small businesses and a new pricing structure that makes it easy for companies to hone in on exactly the right choice for their needs.

Enterprise Quickstart is a full-featured copy of Groundwork Monitor Enterprise that includes a license to monitor up to 100 devices. Customers also receive a seat in a “Getting Started with GroundWork Monitor” training session and email support for the first 60 days. The entire package is available for a flat $49 per year.

The company also rolled out a new Groundwork Monitor Flex-Pricing system for businesses that need more than the Quickstart Program has to offer. It's based on a which annual software license and support bundle the customer chooses, and includes software updates, support for the entire software stack, and unlimited user seats for the duration of the subscription. Prices range from $40-$95 and is determined by how many devices are being monitored (the minimum is 100).

Groundwork has had a busy year. Shortly after acquiring new funding and company officers earlier this year, the company made the news again with the release of Groundwork Monitor 6.0, a new version of its flagship product. It also launched MonitoringForge.org, a hub for open source monitoring, just last month.
