Linux Mint is one of the most popular distributions on the list these days, no doubt in part due to its variety of editions. It's routinely available in Xfce, GNOME, and KDE versions, but more recently Cinnamon and MATE have been added to the line-up. Today, the KDE edition of version 13 was released, two months after Linux Mint 13. Linux Mint 13 "KDE" Desktop  This release features KDE 4.8.3. Linux 3.2.0, X.Org X Server 1.11, GCC 4.6.3, LibreOffice 3.5.3, and Firefox 12.0. It also ships with a little extra software like Kaffeine, VLC, and the GIMP. This release is based on Ubuntu 12.04 and comes with a new selection of high quality background images. Mint has also switched to Yahoo as the default search engine because it might bring in more revenue for the project. Linux Mint 13 repositories feature 60,000 packages See the release announcement for download information.
