Mageia 2 Delayed for More Bug Hunting

by Ostatic Staff - Apr. 05, 2012

The upcoming release of Mageia 2 has been pushed back by almost two weeks in order to release another beta and hunt down bugs. This will also give the other teams more time to apply their finishing touches.

The biggest trouble for Mageia developers seems to be the migration to systemd and Dracut. They've been struggling with this all cycle and have even had to release without live images. Oliver Burger posted, "The bugs mostly relate to the systemd/dracut migration, and changes needed in the installer and drakxtools."

The new schedule adds another beta planned for April 14 and pushes the rest back. The release candidate has been moved from April 10 to May 2 and the final has now been rescheduled for release on May 15 instead of May 3.
