NorthScale, Focused on Memcached, Gets $10 Million In Funding

As GigaOM reports today, NorthScale Inc., which offers data management technology surrounding the open source memcached caching project, has raised $10 million in Series B funding from Mayfield Fund, and previous investors Accel Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners. The company's total funding is now at $15 million. Memcached is used by many web sites, including Wikipedia, Twitter and Flickr. Find out more, including the arrival of a new CEO, at GigaOM.

I didn't know about this, it seems to be very effective and a great business project. And my belief is not only based on the amount of capital invested for this, but on the fact that it has been used, as described above, by Wikipedia, Twitter and Flickr. That is, especially considering Twitter as one of its users, a valuable guarantee for the quality of the service.
