Earlier this week, we covered Jaspersoft's new version of its open source Business Intelligence Suite. It's been getting a fair amount of notice, and I enjoyed watching Kristin White's TalkTech video interview with Brian Gentile, Jaspersoft's CEO. He has good advice for entrepeneurs interested in building a community of developers, and talks about the challenges of being a commercial open source company (Jaspersoft's applications are subscription-based.) The TalkTech site has quite a few other interviews of interest to open sourcers. Here are a couple of more recommended examples.
On the TalkTech site, I also recommend the video interview with Engine Yard which provides Ruby & Rails managed hosting services (the discussion on Twitter's scalability was particularly good), and the interview with the CEO of Widgetbox, which provides an interface for users to develop, share, and find widgets.
