The KOffice team has announced version 2.0.0 of the KOffice suite of productivity applications. It's faster and lighter than OpenOffice.

HP's Mini 110 netbook replaces the Mini 1000. The upgraded version of HP's well-liked netbook is available with Ubuntu pre-loaded for $329.

NASA embraces Microsoft format -- but adds an open-source twist. It's processing immense sets of images and data from Mars and the moon into a special Microsoft format for viewing, but there is an open source angle.

So that's why Hulu hates Boxee. The company has a new desktop app only for PCs, while Boxee targets multiple platforms and set-top boxes.

Open source virtualisation - worth the wait. The meticulous development of of open source virtualization applications has led to better products in the long run.
