Red Hat has made its security certificate system, originally obtained from AOL, open source.....

Bruce Perens, who is credited by many as coining the term open source, now wants to get onto the board of the body he founded, the Open Source Initiative.....

Joomla, an open source content management system, is starting to get more notice.....

Iceland takes a strong stance toward open source and open standards.....

Wonder how Joomla will continue to do in the face of Acquia and Drupal. Drupal, while focused more around modules and social networking plugins, is increasingly becoming the platform of choice for people who want to engage the user more deeply.

Given the work done on Debian, one of the few pure Open Source linux distros out there which is widely used, I would imaging Bruce Perens would be a shoo-in for the board.
