OStatic's Glassfish Promotion a Success--More to Come

Glassfish logoBack in August, in partnership with Sun Microsystems, OStatic introduced its first free hosting promotion. The promotion offered 100 free online hosted accounts for a year to developers looking to build web applications powered by the open source Glassfish Application Server and the open source MySQL database. The response was overwhelming, and the 3-month campaign was sold out 6 weeks early. We have a few more promotions in the works--and here's more on them.

The Glassfish promotion was a success for OStatic and for Sun. Site visitors and members qualified for the free hosting offer by reviewing projects in our database, listing alternatives and answering questions. Several people who qualified for the promotion were happy with the deal, as seen here.

For those who did not participate in the offer, OStatic will be offering several more promotions in the coming weeks and months. These will center on a series of open source technologies, including the open source content management system Drupal. Please stay tuned for more.
