RackSpace Open Sources Its Cloud Platform: OpenStack

As GigaOM reports in "OpenStack Wants to Be Android of The Cloud," RackSpace has released an open source cloud platform called OpenStack.  RackSpace is leading the project, which will also incorporate technology from the Nebula Cloud Platform developed by NASA.The open platform will go head-to-head with cloud platforms from VMware and Microsoft, and will likely compete with other open source cloud platfroms such as Eucalyptus Systems.'
