Ubuntu 12.10 Wallpapers Chosen

Yesterday Canonical Design announced the wallpaper selections for Ubuntu 12.10. The selections range from landscapes to macro images, but one extra image made it "into the package too, an illustrated Quetzal by popular demand."

Twelve backgrounds were chosen from the many community entries received during the latest Ubuntu wallpaper contest. The announcement continues by thanking all the Canonical and Ubuntu folks that helped organize and manage the contest and selection process. However, it does eventually get to the 12.10 collection.

One of the selections features a lone flower isolated against a backdrop of a fiery sunset.

Another attractive choice is the extreme close-up of this interesting plant.

This lovely frozen close-up is also amongst the winners and will be included in Ubuntu 12.10.
