Ubuntu Developer Week Events and Times Announced

The Ubuntu team has revealed the schedule and events for its next Developer Week. Ubuntu Developer Week events are traditionally held online to introduce new developers (or "new to Ubuntu" developers) to the Ubuntu development process.

The next Development Week is slated for January 19th through the 23rd. Events start daily at 16:00 UTC, and occur hourly until 20:00 UTC. The first two scheduled events for Monday (at 16:00-18:00 UTC) are introductory events that will be conducted in several languages.

Ubuntu Developer Weeks traditionally cover topics such as packaging techniques and question and answer sessions with current developers. Because there is a strong focus on bringing new developers onboard, there are a number of sessions showcasing development teams from all over the Ubuntu universe.

Some of the events this time around include an Ubuntu Netbook Remix Question and Answer session, talks with the Xubuntu and Kubuntu teams, and discussions centered on bug reporting, bug squashing, and using VMBuilder for test environment creation.

These events will occur on the Freenode IRC network and are free and open to anyone interested. The Ubuntu Developer Week organizers recommend tuning in to #ubuntu-classroom-chat as well as #ubuntu-classroom at the start of an event, so that questions can be asked without interrupting the tutorials.
