Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales On Being Open

Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, says that a large part of the success of Wikipedia is due to taking an open approach to content, as GigaOM reports. The widely used “open-source encyclopedia” has grown to the point where it now includes 3.2 million articles. In an interview with GigaOM, Wales says "What I would encourage people to do if they’re looking at doing something is to sort of step back and recognize the downsides of a proprietary approach."
