Paper On BCAA Brance Chain Amino Acids

455 words - 2 pages

Branch Chain Amino Acids have been among human beings and all life since the dawn of time. So what are Branched Chain Amino Acids or (BCAAs)? BCAA's, which include the amino acids Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine, are the building blocks of proteins that help synthesize and make use of protein in healing the muscle fibers of the host which are consumed. These specific amino acids "are unique among the amino acids in that they are primarily metabolized extrahepatically in skeletal muscle" (Platell, Kong, McCauley, and Hall). Some questions that are usually asked are: "Why are Branched Chain Amino Acids important during weight training? Where can I get them? Are they found in food sources? Are they medically beneficial?" During exercise, muscles are under a lot of stress and are constantly undergoing micro tears in the underlying muscle fibers, which is why every person undergoing weight training should eat a lean protein source, such as red meat, which is high in amino acids. This topic is very important for anyone looking to enhance their weightlifting experience and gain in mass and growth. How can BCAAs improve the world of fitness, wellness, and society? Most of the recent studies involve muscle fatigue and how we can help lessen this side effect of weight training, also studies for ameliorating soreness from these extensive workout programs.

Transcription And Translation - Biology GT - Scientific Essay

946 words - 4 pages ... DNA goes through the central dogma before amino acids (protein monomers) are made. The central dogma describes the two-step process, transcription, and translation, by which the information in genes flows into proteins: DNA RNA protein. Before the central dogma takes place, DNA goes through replication. Replication is the process of duplicating or producing an exact copy of a polynucleotide strand such as DNA. DNA has to go through a central ...

Biosynthesis Of Antibiotics Drug Daptomycin - Microbiology/postgraduate - Essay

1488 words - 6 pages ... Streptomyces roseosporus, Daptomycin is produced by NRPS or non-ribosomal peptide synthetase. NRPS is a holoenzyme comprising to three subunits. The three subunits are encoded by the genes dptA, dptBC and dptD. These three genes are again responsible for the incorporation of specific amino acids into the peptide chain of Daptomycin. The antibiotic belongs to the family of acidic lipodepsipeptides named the A21978C family. Daptomycin is a cyclic ...

Once the bolus reaches the stomach from the esophagus, the enzyme pepsin breaks down the intact protein to peptides, which are short chain of amino acids. In the duodenum, other enzymes act on the peptides reducing them to smaller peptides and eventually individual amino acids. The amino acids are then ...
