Reaction to Daredevil 2
The film that I chose to watch was Daredevil, because I love superheroes and it
is a movie that I’ve always wanted to see, but never had time for. Daredevil starts out
with a young boy, Matt losing his vision after being splashed in the face with a barrel of
radioactive waste. This occurs right before he finds out that his father isn’t the person
that he thought he was. Matt caught his dad in the act of theft minutes before losing his
vision. After being splashed in the face Matt is taken to the hospital, where he wakes to
a mess of confusion and panic.
Matt wakes up and notices that all of his senses have increased, but his vision is
no longer existing. Matt realizes that because he is now blind that he has to operate by
using other sounds to sense where things are, kind of like sonar. Matt takes his time in
learning to function without his vision and while doing so he becomes fearless. Matt
uses the rooftops of buildings as his playgrounds and his strength increases immensely.
His father is killed one night and in order to avenge his father’s death Matt turns to
fighting crime on his own in the streets.
Most people would think that fighting crime would be impossible for someone
who is blind, but that is definitely not the case. He uses his disability to his advantage to
do so. I thought that this was very interesting, because we just recently learned about
guiding the blind and how the blind function. Matt uses a white cane to guide him while
he is walking the streets dressed as a lawyer. He also wears a dark pair of glasses to
filter out the light and/or ultraviolet rays, because since he is blind he cannot tell when
he wil...
