ABU: This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
This book is about a girl named Remy. She is eighteen years old and just
graduated High School.Remy is heading off to college in the fall. Her dad, a famous
guitar player and songwriter, wrote a song for Remy, the day she was born, called
This Lullaby. Remy listens to it all the time. Unfortunately, she has never met him
because he went on a tour for his band and never came back. Remy’s mom is a
famous author. She’s getting married for the fifth time since Remy’s dad. Remy is
helping plan the wedding but she doesn’t believe that love really exists due to her
mother’s past failed marriages. Although, Remy has been in numerous relationships,
she tends to end them before things get serious. She also claims not being attached
to the relationship so it’s easy for her to break things up without getting hurt.
While Remy is at her mother's fiancé’s car dealership she meets Dexter, a
confident and charming guy. He tries to get her attention but she ignores him. He still
gives her his number by writing it on her hand. Dexter’s band plays at Remy’s mom’s
wedding and from there on Dexter and Remy begin to talk and hangout. Eventually,
they start dating. While they’re dating she finds pictures of her mother's fiancé
cheating on her mom with his secretary. This makes her reaffirm her thoughts about
love not really existing. She begins to quest...
