Any open source alternatives for CutePDF?

CutePDF is great but their professional version costs $50 - which is a bit much for a utility of this nature.

I'm also looking for an open source alternative that will allow me to integrate this on our CMS so that uploaded documents can automatically be converted to pdf format at the time of upload.

Any thoughts?

    try primopdf www.primopdf.com - the basic version is free but I don't think its open source

    Check out the tools on www.pdfforge.com - they have a whole bunch of interesting pdf tools that are open sourced under the GNU license.
