columba v/s thunderbird?

By Ravi Krishnamurthy - Apr. 25, 2008

Someone mentioned that I should download Columba as a replacement to Thunderbird. Anyone else who shares this same view??

I was very happy when I shifted from Outlook to Thunderbird and am extremely happy with Thunderbird for the last 2 years. I really don't see any reason to change from Thunderbird...

I've actually used Columba and its good - Its a Java app and has all the feature functionality you'll see in Thunderbird. The problem is that it isn't as popular and you don't get the add-ons and plug-ins like you do for Thunderbird. I rely heavily on the plug-ins so it isn't really for me...and I agree with you when you say there is no real/pressing reason to switch from Thunderbird.
