G1 phone help to format sd card Mac

hello... am hopeful you can help me with this... i recently bought an 8 gig sd card from a tmobile store... as my g1 phone only had a 1 gig card when i purchased new...
i have not been able to use the card, download pix, or use my camera, music, nothing... the phone will not even recognize that the sd card exists? i read a few blogs on formatting the sd card... but only can be done from a pc. i have a mac. i have called tmobile... no help, which surprises me... if you can help me, i would be most grateful!

    Hi Thomas - you should be able to format an SD card from your Mac by going to the Disk-Utility, which is in your Applications Folder. Depending on the type of format you want or need, you can format it to FAT32, which is what your PC would do.
