Well it is quite easy all you need to do is 1 . copy the file to your home directory

2. right click and in the properties area make the file executable by allowing read and write.

3. fire up the terminal and run this command sudo ./XXXX (XXXX stands for the file name eg, jre-1.6.11.bin or something like that). Hope this works but if it doesn't I'll make sure I have the right instruction by tomorrow. I am using Windows now.
