How can I take a screenshot on my iPod Touch?

By Sang Lei - Jun. 15, 2009

Your help would be appreciated. Some forums say that keeping the Home button and Sleep/Wake (On/Off) key pressed simultaneously will save the screenshot in the photo albums but this doesn't seem to be working for me.

TIA!

What version are you running? The solution you mentioned only works for iphone 2.0 and ipod touch 2.0 - you're probably running the first generation ipod touch. You'll need to upgrade the firmware to 2.0 and then this should work

DJ is correct. I just tried this on my 1st gen iPhone and it works. You have to be fast, though, since if you hold any of these down for too long, or you wait in between clicks, the iPhone or iPod Touch will not take a screenshot.

To take it, you will need to click both the home button and the 'on-off' button pretty much simultaneously.

What works for me is to hold down home and then quickly press and hold down/release the on-off button. This will save a picture in your Photo Album.

Yeah, you have to be quick - if you hold both of them down for more than a second or two it prompts you to power down the phone.
