Looking for software to enable a musically creative mind with no musical instrument skills to write songs!

I am looking for software to enable a musically creative mind with no musical instrument skills to write songs!

I have in mind a form of voice recognition software, where a monophonic melody can be sung/hummed to create a file which can be converted to one or more of a variety of synthesied musical instrument sound.

Can't believe there is nothing on the market?

    Haven't heard of any application that does what you want (IMO - it would be very difficult to map a 'hum' into notes electronically) but here's a list that might be a good starting point - http://www.modernbeats.com/software/index.php

    Yeah, I haven't seen anything on the market that does what you have in mind. I do know of a software that lets you create beats though, not sure if this will help.
