OStatic comments: id of commenter

By Andrew Watson - Mar. 11, 2008

I just left a comment. In order to avoid being anon, I had to sign in to OStatic. Once I did that, the comment links to my OStatic profile. Although this makes sense, I'd prefer:
- to be able to use an OpenID
- that if I do use an OStatic account, my comments link to the website I specify in that profile (changingway.org, my blog) rather than to my OStatic profile.
I'm sure that it's possible to tell Drupal to do these things. So I hereby request that OStatic admin do so.
Thank you,
Andrew

    Thanks for pointing this out.

We will be allowing site users to include a URL as part of their signature when posting comments or question responses.

As we beef up the user profile, you will be able to specify additional information there too.

OpenID support is also in the works.

Please continue to keep your feedback coming!

    Thanks.

Tagging doesn't seem to work. Your education category for example: http://ostatic.com/searchtag/education

lists tons of software that isn't educational.

Yup, it doesn't seem to give very relevant results in some cases but the facets make it very simple to narrow down to a more manageable and relevant result set in a matter of seconds.

I tried the same example you mentioned above - http://ostatic.com/searchtag/education - and if you click on the "Education" category in the facets in the left column - the result set goes down from 7000+ to 2700. I then used the "Mathematics" and "Education" categories to further narrow down the results and was able to get a list of 21 apps that had all 3.

I hope the relevance of the search results improves over time but the facets are a great way to filter the result set and quickly get to the really relevant apps.
