Remote Log viewer/manager

By Nagaraju Bingi - Oct. 13, 2009

I am searching for Log viewer , which should connect to the remote ubuntu machine where Enterprise applications are running and should display the live logs.
In production we might have 100s of ubuntu nodes , so we would like to view all the logs in a single place. This would help to the administrator who wants to manage nodes instead of log-in to the nodes.
please let me know .

Great question, Nagaraju - I have been looking for something along those lines too. I have used Hyperic to manage remote nodes, and if you are looking for parsing specific log files you might also want to consider the non-FOSS Splunk.

Nagaraju - Splunk should suit your needs - I agree with Randy. Take a look at their free trials. They have a lot of functionality. They are NOT free, however! Have you tried Webmin or Nagios?
