Google Reveals Open Web Secrets

OK, so there aren't really that many secrets about the open web - all of the HTML and CSS and Javascript code is out there for the taking. But there is a lot of knowledge about how best to work with these standards, given the crazy mix of browsers and operating systems that web developers need to put up with, and much of that knowledge is hard to come by. The new Google DocType project is an attempt to codify and spread some of this knowledge.


Keep Your HTML Tidy with Free Utilities

If you work with HTML a lot, it's worth keeping an eye on the many free, targeted utilities you can use to work more efficiently. There are utilities that automatically help you clean up your HTML (they can take, say, an off-kilter blog page and render it pristine again), convert HTML to text and vice-versa, or do focused tasks such as removing JavaScript from a file. In this post, I'll round up three free,useful examples.
