Structure Conference, on Cloud Computing: Watch Today's Live Stream

Report: Nearly Half of Open Source Developers Focusing on the Cloud

Recently we covered open source infrastructure tools for cloud computing, which are on the rise. Providing another indication of convergence between open source and the cloud, Evans Data researchers are reporting today that nearly half of developers working on open source projects plan to offer applications as web services via cloud providers. The survey also found that Google App Engine and Amazon's services remain the most popular cloud infrastructure tools among these developers.


MindTouch Teams Up With SnapLogic for CRM Services

Open source collaboration platform vendor, MindTouch, announced a partnership this week with SaaS integration company SnapLogic to deliver Deki for CRM to customers who want to enhance the capabilities of customer relationship management (CRM) software like Salesforce.com and SugarCRM.



Ribbit Proves an Important Point for Open Web Telephony APIs

Internet telephony startup Ribbit announced today that one of its long-standing proof of concept projects is now available: an integration with Salesforce.com's on-demand customer relationship management applications. Ribbit-handled voice messages can now be integrated with Salesforce in various ways, including having them converted to text, and much more. While there is proof of concept behind this integration for Ribbit and its commercial efforts, there is also proof of concept here for open source developers who have their eyes on the growing synergies between online telephony and open source.
