Debian 6.0 "Squeeze" Released, Updated Website
After two years of development, Debian 6.0 is released. It comes with your choice of KDE, GNOME, Xfce, LXDE, and lots of your favorite applications. Debian runs on all sorts of computers including 32-bit PCs, 64-bit PCs, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS, Intel Itanium, and ARM processors. This release also includes two new GNU/kFreeBSD versions.

This release comes with a new community contributed default theme too. SpaceFun is theme centered around a tranquil star-dotted spacecscape interrupted occasionally by a Verne-like rocketship.
A change comes this time to the Custom Debian Distributions. There are now referred to as Debian Pure Blends. These include Debian Accessibility, DebiChem, Debian EzGo, Debian GIS and Debian Multimedia to the already existing Debian Edu, Debian Med and Debian Science.
You can install Debian as you wish as well. From traditional CD media, USB memory sticks, or netbook images. The installer has been improved for easier operation of the keyboard and language selections as well as partitioning and setting up logical volumes, RAID, and encrypted filesystems. In addition, support has been added this release for the ext4 and Btrfs filesystems. Pure open source lovers will be glad to hear that all proprietary and close-sourced code has been removed from the Debian kernel this relase.
Speaking of Debian.org, you might notice it has received an update to mark this release as well. After 13years, Debian's main website and its wiki, lists archive, blog aggregator planet and package information system now have a more modern and refreshing new look.
