Crazy Fan Geeko-Pimps His Ride

by Ostatic Staff - Oct. 10, 2011

Bruno Friedmann takes his Linux seriously. Yes sir-ree. While most users are content with a case sticker and tee-shirt, Friedmann needs to go bigger. Bigger than a toaster. Yes, he decked out his car to reflect his Linux love.

Friedman, one of those convention goer-types and openSUSE Ambassador, modeled auto-body racing stripes, openSUSE Geeko decals, and main openSUSE domainname stickers using Open Source tools like GIMP, Blender, and Inkscape. The result is a professional yet tasteful display of openSUSE fan advertisement.

I was into cars in my younger days, so I'm still distantly connected to the automotive world. openSUSE has always been one of my favorite distributions, and there's even a fine example for myth-busting the assumption that all Linux geeks are "Unkels" hold-up in their parents' basement.  Yes, all my favorite things rolled up on one Webpage.

It looks good. Go check out the rest of the photos and details at Friedmann's openSUSE Lizard post.
