2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 vs 2018 Ford F-150 1
When people think of trucks what do you think of? What is the first brand that comes to mind when they think of trucks? Is it Chevy, Ford, or maybe some other company? Chevy and Ford dominate when it comes to the truck market; Chevy with the Silverado 1500 and Ford with the F-150. Some people choose their truck strictly because it is their preferred brand. With the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the Ford F-150 the specs are so close it doesn’t really make a big difference if a person chooses by brand, but for the person who doesn’t have any preferred brand there are a few specs that might make or break the deal.
The way these two trucks feel when driving on and off the road is an important factor to look at when comparing them. When it comes to driving both the Ford F 150 and the Chevy Silverado 1500 are easy and comfortable to ride. Both, trucks handle well when cornering, and both are typically a smooth ride. According to Edmunds (2017) “The Silverado 1500 is a great road-trip vehicle thanks to its quiet cabin, smooth ride and plush seats, while the F-150 feels nimbler in tight spaces and around corners.” “Like the proverbial rose, a truck is a truck is a truck” (Stafford and Grove) 2017. What the authors mean by this quote is that a truck is usually going to be big and powerful, and that one should expect it to handle that way while driving. Since you would expect a big truck like the Silverado 1500 to be different than a car in corners and tight spaces the F-150’s nimble handling is not as big of deal as one might think, although it is a nice bonus. The Ford F-150 has a slightly superior suspension to that of the Chevy Silverado making the sudden jolts a little more bearable in the Ford.
In today’s world technology plays a big part in almost anything a person buys including vehicles. Part of the technology to look at in the two trucks is the safety features that they come can with. “Both trucks can be equipped with active safety features such as forw...
