2 years ago, Stanford University announced that it would ban hard liquor from undergraduate parties on campus because sexual assault happened during that time. Some students said this policy is understandable, because it’s for the students’ own good. But others said the school should let the students themselves make the decision.
II. Statement of Opinion
In my opinion, alcohol should be prohibited on American college campuses.
III. Preview
So today, I’d like to present reasons why I believe alcohol should be banned on campus.
First Reason: Consuming alcohol is harmful for the human body.
Second Reason: Alcohol consumption may affect a student's performance.
Third Reason: Banning alcohol could reduce sexual assault on campus.

My first point is that alcohol consumption can cause major health problems, including liver disease and injuries sustained in automobile accidents. In fact, researchers have linked alcohol consumption to over 60 diseases and illnesses. This proves that alcoholism can present many dangers to students.
