American and French Revolutions
The American revolution was a major event that began in 1775. The revolution was a big turning point for the American colonists. The American Revolution led to the creation of the United States as an independent state. The American Revolution had a big influence on the French Revolution. There were many events that went on during the American Revolution. For instance, The Passage of the Stamp Act in 1765, The Boston Massacre, The Boston Tea Party, Adoption of the Declaration of Independence, and there were many battles. The Passage of the Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. Also from this act the American Colonists where to pay taxes on printed paper, legal documents, license, newspapers, and other publications, these taxes where used to help the British troops in the colonies. But also the British wanted to reduce their debt that has increased a lot after the French and Indian Wars. The American colonists where very mad because they had no say in what their money went into and how much they had to give in. like the colonists felt that their money was taken and didn’t know what the government was using it for and felt like they had no say about the situation. There are many other things I could talk about on the major events that happened during the American Revolution war.
The French Revolution was a major event that happened in modern European history. The French Revolution started in France because King Louis XVI needed money and his financial crisis led to the beginning of the French Revolution. There are so many causes to the French Revolution War. For instance, here are some really big events that had happened. Meeting of the Estates General, Fall of the Bastille, March on Versailles, Dissolution of the National Assembly, War, Attack on the Tuileries Palace, Reign of Terror, and Declaration of the Republic and the Trial of Louis. Some other causes of the French Revolution are high taxes, poor harvest, and the influence of the American revolution. I know that the French looked towards the American revolution in many ways. When the French revolution was over it had influenced many other revolutions like absolutism, feudalism, class privilege and legal inequality, natural rights, and equal freedom for the whole world. The French revolution went through sever debt and it was so bad that people didn’t have money even the rich ran out of money.
The American and French Revolutions were both focused on liberty and equality. The two countries were trying to get their freedom back. Americans were trying to get freedom from the tax that was put onto by the British. When the French wanted to take down the French monarchy and make a better government and people could have a say on what happens in society.
