George is an ordained minister and has his PHD in engineering. George has created a medical company along with the property management one and he also has a farm. He brings so much to the office because of his age and long time gaining of different aspects of life. I am able to counteract George in the office and this is a benefit as well. I can reflect on Georges past knowledge and he is always willing to share a story or two. The young age of a few employees bring the technology knowledge into a new perspective. It seems that I and the other younger person in the office bring in the new technology to the office and teach our older counter parts. We can help the older generations learn the programs and get experience with the programs ourselves.Another factor in the office is gender. There is a diverse amount of gender in the office as well as out on the property. In the office there are five men and five women. We all work on various projects dealing with the property management company as well as the medical company. Out on the property we have one woman and six maintenance men. In the office the diverse genders seem to balance one another out. When doing the strategic planning the men come up with the ideas and the woman implement the plan. Of course it does not always work like this and sometime the roles are reversed.Diversity 4Managing a Diverse CompanyIf there was no value to diversity in the workplace, there might not be any broadened views or there may certainly be little appreciation for new innovative ideas created within a diverse corporation.
