Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather and going to the circus or the zoo. The majority of us bought our “beloved” pets at pet shops, had guinea pigs and kept beautiful birds in cages. We wear wool and silk,we eat Mcdonalds and we go fishing. We do this all without a second thought, never taking into consideration the effect our actions have on animals.
We as humans yearn to control things that are so difficult to control, climate change, the economy, global warming but are we so ignorant to ignore a dilemma as controversial as animal cruelty? The time has come for us as a nation to take a stand. Thousands of companies, factories and individuals on a global scale abuse and mistreat animals on a daily basis. There are over 100 million animals that are killed per year and still we continue to turn a blind eye on this issue.
One of the most notorious injustices that animals face is experimental use. Animals are being utilized as testers to test the cosmetic ingredients that are present in the products. Countless rabbits, dogs, cats and mice are tortured and killed in completely unnecessary tests.
