Autism
There are many people that suffer from Autism or as some people know it as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) which is just another name for autism. When referring to autism there are wide varieties of autisms, genetics play a major role in determining whether the child/children will be autistic or not. People who suffer from autism don’t know that they have any kind of autism unless they’ve been tested for it. Early signs to pay attention to closely in children are; not being able to speak in sentences, not be able to follow simple instructions, show behavioral extremes (unusually aggressive, fearful, sad, shy), unusually withdrawn and not active in social situations. Autism isn’t medically tested the way doctors perform a diagnosis is by observing behavior and development. The signs of autisms usually occur around the early adolescents’ years, but if one doesn’t pay close attention to the signs they could easily be overlooked. One of the milder autisms is called Asperger Syndrome which is a developmental disorder certain signs are; difficulty maintaining eye contact, trouble focusing, and repetition of sounds or physical motions, difficulty adapting to changes whether environmental or scheduled. Asperger Syndrome interferes with social interactions and it’s the cause of certain learning capabilities it also causes a shift in attitudes as well. The thing about these “disorders” is one must conduct their own research based on their own personal symptoms, but also consult with different doctors before settling for only one doctors diagnosis. For many years I was told that I suffer from ADHD, but instead of my parent conducting their own research they decided to just take the word of one doctor so I was misdiagnosed that was the end result to that situation.
