The area where a store is located starts with an action plan; this is the research and gathering of information about the area. Knowing your customers' needs and wants will make finding the correct area and location easy to do, but first you must identify what those needs/wants are. Getting a third party vendor maybe useful, first you can locate one, contact them and then step up a regular standing order with them. Kudler Foods is a small organization based out of Southern California that consistently grows and cut cost. They cut cost by selling local produce, by creating a connection with farmers throughout California to purchase fruit and vegetables at a cheaper cost. Vertical integration is when an organization acquires firms that supply it with inputs or are customers for its outputs. Inputs can be raw materials and outputs can be warehouses for finished products. Kudler Foods deals with a lot of raw materials such as the 350 different fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices they sell. Acquiring businesses that Kudler purchases it raw materials from will help cut cost and make business operations smooth. Even though horizontal and vertical integration can help a company expand and grow they also have risk. Horizontal integration can pose the risk of increased commitment to one type of business, and vertical integration risk that the organizations expansion into areas that require strategic managers who gain additional responsibilities. Action plans are important in creating a new strategic plan. Action plans are combinations of all the strategies an organization has to develop throughout a business plan into an organized plan set in place to achieve mission and goals of the company.
