Comentario del vídeo propuesto
- Los yacimientos de la Sierra de Atapuerca proporcionan un testimonio único del origen y la evolución tanto de la civilización humana actual como de otras culturas
ya desaparecidas. La línea evolutiva de los ancestros africanos de la humanidad
moderna se documentan en esta zona. La evidencia más temprana y más abundante
de la humanidad en Europa se encuentra en la Sierra de Atapuerca. Los restos
fósiles en la Sierra de Atapuerca son una reserva inestimable de información sobre

- La "sima de los Huesos" que se encuentra en "Cueva Mayor" es uno de los yacimientos más importantes y más difíciles de excavar y que ha sido expoliado
durante siglos por la gente del lugar.
- Tras duros años de trabajo, en 1992, aparecieron las más increíble acumulación de fósiles humanos y entre ellos dos cráneos muy completos, uno de ellos es el cráneo
más completo y mejor conservado del registro fósil mundial. Un mes entero tardo el
equipo en excavar un cuarto de metro cuadrado.
- El primer yacimiento excavado fue el llamado la Gran Dolina. Se trataba de un taller donde estos antepasados fabricaban sus herramientas. Este yacimiento ha aportado
valiosa información sobre los cambios climáticos del último millón de años y de
como esos cambios afectaron a las plantas y a la evolución de los animales y de
cómo los seres humanos explotaron los recursos del medio.
- En 1994 aparecieron unos curios dientes humanos con una antigüedad de unos 800.000 años. Nunca antes se había datado en Europa, fósiles de tal antigüedad.
- Atapuerca es uno de los yacimientos de fósiles humanos más importantes del mundo.

Comentario del apartado "Yacimientos" de la web www.atapuerca.org
- El apartado yacimientos está dividido en varios apartados en los que encontramos
los siguientes:
Introducción.
- Aquí se hace una breve descripción de lo que es Atapuerca y se esquematiza todo lo
que vamos a encontrar en el apartado de "Yacimientos".
Situación.
- Se subdivide en "La sierra de Atapuerca", que recoge su localización geográfica,
climática y revive lo que fue dicha sierra en el pasado.
- La segunda opción que nos da la de "Visitas" donde se da una completa información
al visitante que pretenda visitar las cuevas: fechas, horarios, teléfonos, sugerencias
hosteleras en la zona, así como una guía de todo lo que ofrece el lugar.
Formación de los yacimientos.
- Básicamente aquí se repite lo que se ha podido ver en el video comentado
anteriormente. No das una descripción geológica de la sierra de Atapuerca y nos
relata cómo se ha llegado a formar las cuevas hasta como las conocemos hoy.
Historia.
- Esta opción vuelve a subdividirse en dos anexos.
- El primero, "Así empezó todo", rememora como se produjo este descubrimiento,
desde que la curiosidad de Fray Manuel Ruiz hiciera que este entrase en Cueva
Mayor, en 1645, y dejara allí su rúbrica, pasando por el descubrimiento, en 1910 de
las pinturas del Portalón de la misma Cueva Mayor, por Jesús Carballo; hasta que,
en 1976, el ingeniero de minas, Trino Torres, descendiera a la "sima de los Huesos"
en busca de huesos de osos...
