Aerosmith from Boston Boston was the starting point for many bands such as Drop Kick Murphys, Extreme, Gang Green, The Pixies, Have Heart and so on. Maybe, the most famous of all is Aerosmith. Aerosmith, an American band that was based in Boston, set the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal throughout the 70s and 80s. Aerosmith was formed by guitarist Steven Victor Tallarico, better known as Steven Tyler, who became the lead singer. He was born on March 26, 1946, in Yonkers, New York. In the late 1960s, he moved to Boston. Tyler met guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton in Sunapee, New Hampshire. In 1970, Aerosmith was formed. Later, the group was completed by drummer Joey Kramer and guitarist Brad Whitford. For the next two years, all five members shared a small apartment at 1325 Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton, a neighborhood in Boston.

Aerosmith's popularity throughout the Boston area grew rapidly, and a triumphant gig at Max's Kansas City, witnessed by Clive Davis, led to a recording contract with Columbia Records in 1972. They released their eponymous debut album in 1973. Their first single release, "Dream On," strengthened their national following, and they started to tour widely. This song was rereleased in 1976 and reached number six on the Billboard chart, followed by another top 10 hit, "Walk This Way." Ultimately, Aerosmith was the best-selling American hard rock band of all time, selling more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 70 million records in the United States alone. They had 25 gold albums, 18 platinum albums, and 12 multi-platinum albums. The 80s' hard rock genre was fueled by numerous groups that hit the scene heavily influenced by Aerosmith from their glorious 70s. Performers and groups such as Greg Steele of KNAC, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Stephen Pearcy, Guns n' Roses, L. A. Guns, and Jack Russell were influenced by Aerosmith.

Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and they were included in both Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. In 2013, Tyler and Perry were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Aerosmith not only got influenced as a band but also the songs were welcomed by artists. On August 5th, 2016, a Rock Band, Pearl Jam, did a cover of Aerosmith's "Draw the Line" in Fenway Park. In the same year, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Miley Cyrus sang Aerosmith's "Dream On" in the TV show "The Voice." Taylor Swift and Steven Tyler performed "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" in Nashville on Taylor Swift's 1989 tour. Lady Antebellum, Sam Hunt, and Hunter Hayes cove...
