Throughout American history, racism has been constantly going on and has affected every race that there is. However, this so called “racism” can be interpreted in many different ways. There is no defense for the white people in the 1900s who brought slavery to the equation. They clearly went against all human morals by making one race work for them with no rewards. But, I still believe that racism in American history has been completely construed by the media and many other sources. Media seems to portray that African Americans were, for the most part, the only race besides maybe Native Americans to be victims of racism. Of course racism is a big problem because it starts race wars especially when one side feels victimized by the other. The real issue is that it seems like African Americans feel that they are the only race that is discriminated against. Also, they tend to blame white people for their wrongdoings and misbehavior that leads them into trouble. For example, in the movie “Crash” the one scene in which the black female was yelled at because she wasn’t obeying the police officer is a perfect example. That situation happens often today in which an African American disregards the police officer’s demands and continues to do whatever they want. Then, the cop is forced to reprimand the criminal with violence. This is where the media steps in because all you will see on the news is a white cop shooting a black person and they coincidentally don’t mention what the bl...
