Dancing and How it relieves stress:
Something I have been passionate about lately has been finding ways to reduce stress in my life. So, I recently took up a new hobby. My whole life I have never been a dancer or have done dance professionally. But, I have always been interested in ballet and the many positive qualities that come along with this type of dance. That being said, I have been doing ballet based workouts, but I am really interested as to how dance in general can reduce your stress.
Instead of doing a normal workout, dancing can be an alternative to those who do not work out on a daily basis or have a “plan.” Mirroring workouts you can do at the gym, dancing relieves stress in a similar way. I never ended up making it to the gym, but looking up quick dance routines or dance workouts have served the same purpose.
There happens to be he scientific reason for why dance can act as a stress reliever. Not only does this physical activity release a neurotransmitter called endorphins, most physical activities do. When your body releases endorphins, its purpose is to alleviate stress. Endorphins serve as a natural pain killer to your body, mentally and physically. So, after a workout or physical activity your body is likely to feel more calm or less anxious.
