Daar is twee dinge in die lewe waaroor ons seker is, ons word gebore en ons gaan eendag sterf. Voordat jy jou laaste asem uitblaas sou ek dink dat jy jou nalentskap moet bepeins. Wat het jy gedoen wat goed is vir ons wêreld? Òf wat moes ek anders gedoen het?
Orgaanskenking is wanneer 'n persoon toelaat dat 'n orgaan van hulle verwyder word, wettig, óf deur toestemming terwyl die skenker lewend of na die dood is met die toestemming van hulle familie
Donasie kan vir navorsing wees of organe kan geskenk word om 'n ander persoon se lewe te red.
Algemene oorplantings sluit in: niere, hart, lewer, pankreas, ingewande, longe, bene, beenmurg, vel en korneas. Sommige organe en weefsels kan geskenk word deur lewende skenkers soos nier of deel van die lewer, deel van die pankreas, deel van die longe of deel van die ingewande, maar die meeste skenkings vind plaas nadat die skenker dood is.
Vanaf 2 Februarie 2018 was daar 115 mense wat wag op lewensreddende orgaanoorplantings in die VSA. Hiervan was 74 mense aktiewe kandidate wat op 'n skenker wag.Terwyl die siening van orgaanskenking positief is, is daar 'n groot gaping tussen die aantal geregistreerde skenkers in vergelyking met dié wat orgaanskenkings op wêreldvlak verwag.
Hier is drie van honderde redes hoekom jy daaraan moet dink om na dood organe te skenk:
1- Tot 60 mense kan baat vind by jou skenkings van weefsel, organe en korneas. Jy het die mag om 'n ma, pa, grootouer, vriend en kind terug te gee aan hul geliefdes vir 'n tweede kans op die lewe.
2- Daar is ook geen ouderdom limiet nie! In 2016 het die wêreld se oudste orgaanskenker haar korn...
