The film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), directed by George Miller, takes the audience on an action-packed journey into a post-apocalyptic world, where warlords have control over scarce necessities like water and fuel, and mutated humans scavenge for scraps. Besides the warlords, the second most powerful position is the driver of the war rigs. Furiosa (Charlize Theron), has been given the honor of driving the war rig. Still, in a world where women of Charlize Theron's beauty are held captive by the warlords to reproduce, Furiosa is rejected as a perfect human because of her missing arm and thus is allowed to achieve more than if she wasn't disabled.
Furiosa's missing arm allows her to break out of the adversity that women of her beautiful face. Furiosa's whole goal in the film is to save the women Immortan Joe has slaved to have sex with. All the actresses that play the sex slaves are either model in real life or possess the physical beauty of models, and in the film, they are wrapped in torn fabric and have messy hair, yet all of them still come off as physically perfect humans. Furiosa's missing arm labels her as imperfect, putting her in the same category as the rest of the 99% of people. If her arm weren't missing, she would be held captive like the rest of the women, and she would not have risen to hold such power.
